CASE STUDY:

DESIGNING FOR A DIGITAL FUTURE

KIMBERLY DENMAN had the (ever so stylish) rug pulled out from under them. In March of 2020, a brand that thrived being seen by the right people in the right showrooms looked up to see the world closing its doors. For the foreseeable future, there would be no walk ins, no appointments, no exposure. They needed new ways to get their products in front of clients and convey their unique style, beauty, and quality. And fast. The digital future that everyone suspected was coming eventually, had arrived, overnight.

They came to us looking for help creating videos, what they got was a virtual showroom supported by a brand eco-system that drew in visitors from all corners of the web. The results were très magnifique.

COMING TO LIFE IN THE DIGITAL SPACE

What began as a website redesign quickly became a remarkable opportunity to grow the brand. With each new release, we created films that interwove the inspiration, incredible designs, exquisite craftsmanship, and finished pieces into one compelling narrative.

A NUANCED PERSONALITY…

The flexibility of the digital space allowed us to expand the scope of the brand. No longer limited by square footage on the showroom floor, we were free to explore. Kim’s journey, from a lover of design, to an in-demand interior designer, to an artist dreaming up completely uniques pieces all her own, became central to the story we were telling.

…AND A SENSE OF HISTORY

Laurent’s background as a second generation antique dealer became a crucial thread to follow. We showcased his collection, and highlighted the connections between the vintage pieces and Kim’s new designs. Despite the fact that they were no longer face to face with their customers, we were able to present a much more personal brand to the world.

REACHING FURTHER

A gorgeous website that brilliantly distills the essence of a brand is only as valuable as the traffic it gets. And so, we set about building a brand eco-system to extend the reach of the virtual showroom, coaxing visitors in from all across the web. We created tailored content specifically designed for Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and email.

A REVAMPED INSTAGRAM FEED

COUSINS, NOT CLONES

Each social platform has its own strengths, and audience. While a uniform brand style is essential, we created content curated specifically for each platform to maximize its impact.

After a bit of trial and error, we arrived on an instagram strategy that featured KIMBERLY DENMAN furniture in context, to contrast the neutral feel of the virtual showroom. This approach also let us feature the work of other artists and artisans we admire and feel compliment the DENMAN line.

FINDING A VOICE

While reaching new customers is essential for growth, it’s equally important to nurture relationships with the existing ones.

We hate the ads that clutter our inbox. Don’t you? And so, when we created a monthly newsletter for KIMBERLY DENMAN, we knew it had to be a thing of value. Something readers looked forward to opening. COMMUNIQUÉ is a monthly dose of comfort, culture and style where we share our favorites books, movies, artists and cocktails with a serious dose of sass.

Readership grows every month, and we love writing it.

RE-ENTRY

And when the time came for re-opening, we were there with a dynamic visual campaign that told the story in striking images.

RESULTS

After it was all said and done, the brand emerged from the pandemic with more customers, more ways to reach them, and more sharply realized than ever before. So much so, that KIMBERLY DENMAN was profiled for INTERIORS MAGAZINE, and their space was shot by world famous architectural photographer JOSE MANUEL ALLORDA for a seven page spread. There are plans to open in more cities and expand their offerings to include fine art, photography, and sculpture. The future looks bright, and oh so chic!
